Plant Controller (Multi-site)

Job DescriptionThe Plant Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial activities for assigned manufacturing plants within a multi-site operating environment. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and effective cost management, while partnering with plant operations, other site controllers, and corporate finance resources to support decision-making, drive operational efficiency, and ensure consistency across locations.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & ClosePrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the assigned plant within a multi-site structureLead the monthly close process for the plant, coordinating timelines and requirements with corporate financeEnsure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP, corporate policies, and standardized reporting practices across sitesProvide financial explanations for plant performance versus budget, forecast, prior periods, and peer-site benchmarksCost Accounting & Manufacturing FinanceMaintain and analyze standard costs and job costing, including material, labor, and overhead, in alignment with company-wide costing methodologiesAnalyze manufacturing variances (PPV, usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption) and compare performance across sitesSupport inventory valuation, reserves, cycle counts, and physical inventories, ensuring consistency with multi-site inventory policies and controlsMonitor and analyze scrap, rework, and yield metrics, including cross-site comparisonsSupport capital project analysis, capitalization, and depreciation in coordination with corporateBudgeting & ForecastingLead the annual budget and periodic forecast updates for the assigned plants within the broader multi-site planning processPartner with plant leadership and corporate finance resources to develop aligned production, cost, and capital assumptionsTrack performance against budget and forecast, identifying site-specific risks and opportunitiesInternal Controls & ComplianceEnsure compliance with internal controls, and company policies across the plantCoordinate with corporate and other plant controllers to support internal and external auditsMaintain strong segregation of duties and standardized controls over inventory, fixed assets, and expendituresOperational PartnershipAct as a financial business partner to the Plant Manager and operations leadershipCollaborate with other site controllers and corporate finance to drive consistency, transparency, and best practices across locationsProvide financial insights to support pricing, sourcing, make/buy decisions, and continuous improvement initiativesParticipate in cross-site finance initiatives, process standardization, and system improvementsQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)5–10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including manufacturing or cost accountingPrior experience in a multi-site manufacturing or matrixed organization strongly preferredTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing financial processesSolid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworksExperience with ERP systems used in multi-site environments (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI or enterprise reporting tools a plusCompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to translate financial data into operational insights across multiple locationsExcellent communication and collaboration skills in a matrixed organizationDetail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a multi-site close environmentWorking ConditionsOn-site presence at the assigned manufacturing facilitiesPeriodic overtime during month-end, year-end close, forecasting, and budget cyclesOccasional travel to corporate offices or other plant locations may be requiredVictaulic is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EOE/M/F/Vets/Disabled) employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
