The Surgery Department provides care to a wide variety of patients, from the neonate to the critically ill elderly adult, inpatients and outpatients. Our comprehensive surgical care includes, but is not limited to, the following specialties: general surgery, OB/GYN, orthopedic, open heart, cardiovascular, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, urology, ENT, Retina, and robotic. Registered Nurse Roles and Responsibilities: Functions as a member of the surgical team to deliver peri-operative care to surgical patients, neonate through geriatric. Must have the necessary knowledge to prepare and maintain a safe and sterile environment, assess the health needs of the patient, implement and evaluate care for the patient in a manner that supports the Standards of Nursing Care, and perform other related duties as assigned. Provides for the well-being of the community, services the needs of all people and demonstrates the values: dignity, compassionate care, community, quality and stewardship. Required Skills & Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau. BSN preferred. Obtains and maintains current certification as required in specialty areas. Obtains and maintains current CPR. Minimum of one (1) year work experience in the operating room preferred.
