Billing Clerk

This position is accountable for the preparation of all monthly invoicing sent directly to customers which results in the cash flow that affects the entire company. Must be able to interface with company project managers and external customers to obtain information required for billing.

Analyze customer contract or purchase order for all pertinent information in order to generate invoice that meets customer's requirements

Prepare and maintain files on projects, as well as maintain files on completed projects

Enter customer's requirements on retainage procedures into database

Match extra work authorizations with project change orders

Prepare special billing formats for invoicing

Recalculate and proof unbilled Receivable Report monthly

Work with accounts receivable to resolve payment differences with customer

High school diploma

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Frequently lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds, occasionally lifting items weighing up to 20 pounds.

Hand-Eye coordination

The Billing Clerk works mostly in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site and weather conditions may occur. Some locations expose workers to harmful materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, loud noise or dangerous machinery. To avoid injury, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, must be worn in all areas as required. While not considered inherently dangerous, a Billing Clerk must be especially alert to safely follow procedures and must deal with a variety of hazards and exercise care while performing onsite services.
