Mental Health Therapist 2 (Underfill) - Assertive Community Treatment

Marion County requires on-site work. Remote work is not available. Marion County Adult Behavioral Health is hiring mental health therapists for its Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. ACT provides intensive, community‑based treatment to individuals with serious mental illnesses and co‑occurring disorders. Compensation Mental Health Therapist 1: $29.54 – $39.58 per hour. Mental Health Therapist 2: $35.83 – $48.00 per hour. Responsibilities Provide individual and group therapy using evidence‑based practices such as CBT, DBT, SFBT, CAMS, CPI, and motivational interviewing. Conduct crisis assessment and intervention, including safety/crisis plans and self‑harm risk assessments. Deliver intake and annual comprehensive mental‑health assessments, develop individualized treatment and crisis‑prevention plans. Determine service needs, eligibility, and coordinate referrals and advocacy with agencies. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation per federal, state, and program standards. Participate fully as a member of the ACT team—attend daily team meetings, client crisis intervention, and after‑hours on‑call rotation. Follow ACT’s national standards, fidelity scale, and OARs; at least 75% of services in community settings; driving required. Assist with training, education, and committee representation as requested. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or a related behavioral science field; or bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Occupational Therapy with state licensure; or second‑year graduate student waived as QMHP by the Oregon Health Authority. For Crisis Clinician 2 positions only: at least one year of full‑time, post‑master’s experience in behavioral health. Licensure: Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers, or MHACBO Qualified Mental Health Professional within 30 days of hire. Completed OAR 309‑019‑0231(7)(a) competencies in documentation and engagement interventions. Salem Hospital privileges within six months of hire. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history; Marion County’s driving record policy applies. Pass criminal background check, drug screening (including marijuana), and other mandatory assessments. Special Requirements Must not be excluded from federal health‑care and procurement programs. Full‑time position eligible for overtime. Typical work schedule Monday‑Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with flexibility for emergency response and after‑hours coverage.
