Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Neuro Surgical Specialty unit requiring 2+ years of acute inpatient telemetry experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Work in a 34-bed Neuro Surgical Specialty unit within a hospital setting,
• Patient population includes spine and neuro surgical diagnoses (non-stroke),
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1,
• Uses Epic EMR system,
• Equipment used includes lumbar and JP drains, wound vac, traction, PCA, trach, EKG, and feeding tubes,
• Night shift schedule from 6:45pm to 7:15am,
• Works 3 shifts per week totaling 36 hours,
• Required to work every other weekend,
• RN does not read telemetry strips,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (KY or Compact) currently in hand,
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS),
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient telemetry experience required,
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required,
• Epic EMR experience required,

Additional Information

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments per policy and as warranted by patient condition,
• Initiate, prioritize, and implement plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams,
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions,
• Provide patient and family education specific to care needs throughout stay and at discharge,
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and function as a mentor or preceptor,
• Participate in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts,
• Optional neuro certification class available through the Neuro Institute
