Automation Specialist

Freese and Nichols is searching for a skilled Automation Specialist to support our I&C Design team in Raleigh, NC. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops Technical Memorandums related to I&C projects including, but not limited to:SCADA Master PlanningPLC and HMI SelectionsTelemetry StudiesPreliminary Engineering/Design ReportsDevelop P&IDs, IO Lists, and requirements for industrial control panelsDevelops plans and specifications for I&C projectsDevelops testing requirements for hardware and softwareDevelop simulations for PLC testingAbility to troubleshoot control system hardware and software problemsTrain clients on the use of hardware and software for their applicationWork with vendors, integrators, and internal I&C team to respond to and resolve SCADA system issuesQualifications5+ years in SCADA and/or I&C DesignBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related disciplineExperience in all phases of SCADA system design, from pre-proposal involvement to the initial report, design, production, and construction.Experience managing SCADA implementation projectsExperience interacting and working with a diverse set of clients and subcontractorsExcellent technical writing skillsPreferred Skills and QualificationsCertifications: Ability to be licensed as a PEProficiency in VTScada, AVEVA System Platform, Studio 5000, and ConceptExperience with SCADA Planning and Technology Selection ProjectsOT Networking and CybersecurityRevit or AutoCadXLReporter or Dream ReportsAbout Freese and NicholsAt the heart of our culture is our LEADS values (Learn continuously, Engage as family, Act with integrity, Deliver quality, and Serve always).
