Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients within a mixed acuity setting. The role requires managing Intermediate Care acuity as well as telemetry and MedSurg patient types, ensuring all care standards are met.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care to surgical, orthopedic, neuro/spinal, and general medical cases.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data for cardiac patients.
• Titrate medications and manage treatment plans for intermediate care patients.
• Participate in the care team and support pod structure operations with 2 RNs and 1 Nurse Aide per pod.

Requirements:

• 1 year of nursing experience in Intermediate/Stepdown care required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications necessary.
• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing; South Dakota RN license required.
• Experience with EPIC charting system.
• Ability to interpret cardiac strips and manage various medical procedures and devices.
