Physical Therapist Assistant | Therapy and Rehabilitation, Full-Time

Works under direction of Physical Therapist to administer outpatient and inpatient physical therapy treatment techniques (e.g., exercise, moist heat, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, gait training, manual therapy, etc.) to restore body functions, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of body part; instructs patients in care and use of braces, canes, crutches, or prosthetic devices; records pertinent information in medical record with co-signature by supervising Physical Therapist; actively communicates pertinent patient information to supervising Physical Therapist.

Directs patient care activities of Physical Therapist Aides; participates in training programs for other Allied Health departments in the hospital.

Assists with completion of special project as required and/or assigned; as requested, supervises activities in Rehab. Department in absence of Director or Assistant Director.

Develops and demonstrates knowledge of current advances in Physical Therapy to maintain professional competency through literature review, peer review or continuing education.

Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program of study.

Licensed by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board to practice Physical Therapy Assisting in the state of Ohio. Attains American Heart Association BLS certification within six (6) months of employment and maintains continuous certification.
