Landscape Construction Foreman / Crew Leader

Nature's Perspective Landscaping, a locally owned company serving Evanston, Chicago, and the North Shore since 1979, is seeking an experienced Landscape Construction Foreman / Crew Leader. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for guiding a crew through all phases of residential and commercial landscape construction projects, from site preparation to final cleanup. The ideal candidate will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work while fostering a positive team environment. This is a seasonal, full-time position with work scheduled Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays during peak season. Responsibilities

• Lead and work alongside a crew on hardscape and landscape construction projects.
• Interpret construction plans, lay out projects, and oversee grading, paving, drainage, base preparation, and installation work.
• Direct the installation and demolition of patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
• Coordinate daily crew assignments, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain job-site safety, quality workmanship, productivity, and organized cleanup.
• Communicate effectively with managers, clients, and crew members, and complete required reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of professional hardscape construction experience, including crew leadership.
• Experience in masonry and hardscape installation, including stone flatwork, vertical hardscape, and retaining walls.
• Ability to read construction plans, establish layouts and grades, and organize projects.
• Experience with plant installations, bed renovations, soil preparation, transplanting, and mulching.
• Proficient in safely operating landscape construction tools and equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors, perform physical labor, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid Class C driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Strong English communication skills; Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation

$21–$28 per hour , based on experience. Overtime pay is available.
