Compensation: $100,000 – $115,000 Base Salary (No commissions or bonuses)

Travel: Regular driving travel within a 3-hour radius of Sterling VA; occasional travel beyond

The Role

Are you a technical professional with a high-energy, engaging personality? We are seeking a Technical Sales Representative who thrives on building strong relationships as much as understanding structural products.

In this role, your primary mission is client retention and account growth, fostering our existing business relationships, conducting regular check-ins, solving project challenges, and uncovering ways we can help our clients grow through our product offerings. You will also modestly build new relationships within the regional construction market to drive incremental revenue.

What You will Do

• Nurture Existing Relationships: Maintain regular, proactive contact with our customer base to ensure high satisfaction, resolve project friction, and understand their future business plans.

• Drive Modest Growth: Identify and convert strategic new opportunities within the regional market through networking, warm introductions, and targeted outreach.

• Client Engagement: Represent Trowbridge Steel at industry association events, dinners, and client outings. You should possess the ability to feel at ease connecting with clients in social settings.

• Consultative Problem Solving: Combine your technical background with a sales mindset to understand project specs, deliver tailored solutions, and present pricing and proposals.

• Regional Travel: Visit jobsites, offices, and clients primarily within a 3-hour driving radius of our Sterling, VA facility.

What We Are Looking For

• Technical Aptitude: Experience or education grounded in construction, rebar, structural materials, or technical sales.

• People-First Mindset: An energetic, approachable personality with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

• Relationship Focus: A strong belief that customer satisfaction and long-term trust drive sustainable business growth.

• Location & Mobility: Be within a comfortable commute of Sterling VA, hold a valid driver's license, and be comfortable with regular regional driving travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in rebar sales, construction materials sales, technical sales, or client account management.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
