We are launching a brand-new Farmers Insurance District Office in the Chicagoland area, overseeing and supporting a network of 40 local insurance agencies .

We are hiring a Agency Business Consultant (ABCs) to work collaboratively as a core pillar of our district leadership team. In this role, you will not be selling insurance policies directly . Instead, your mission is to coach, mentor, collaborate with, and encourage agency owners and their producers to elevate their sales performance, optimize operations, and achieve top-tier quota attainment.

You will serve as an on-the-ground strategic partner, spending 50% to 75% of your time in the field (~2-4 days per week) visiting agencies across Chicagoland, building strong relationships, refining sales models, and driving high-level execution. The remaining time will be spent doing things in the district’s main office, including:

• Analyzing district-wide performance metrics and identifying territory-wide sales trends.
• Collaborating directly with the internal recruiting team and the second Agency Business Consultant to align on agency development and talent pipelines.
• Preparing advanced training materials, tailored scripting frameworks, and strategic action plans for upcoming agency visits.
• Engaging in high-level discussions on advanced insurance and financial services concepts to continuously sharpen your executive acumen.

• Field Coaching & Mentorship: Partner directly with agency owners and their sales producers inside their offices across the Chicagoland territory to analyze and improve daily sales workflows.
• Sales Process Optimization: Review, refine, and roleplay cold calling and inbound scripting to drive conversion rates.
• Joint Field Work: Participate in joint sales calls, live prospecting sessions, and networking events alongside agency teams to boost morale, model effective techniques, and demonstrate best practices.
• Cross-Selling & Product Focus: Identify opportunities for multi-line cross-selling within existing agency books of business and align agencies with top-performing product lines supported by Farmers Insurance.
• Quota & Performance Tracking: Collaborate with the District Manager and agency principals to diagnose performance gaps, set actionable milestones, and track progress toward district goals.
• District Collaboration: Work seamlessly alongside the second Agency Business Consultant and our internal recruiting team to ensure a unified approach to agency growth and development.

• Active Licensing: Must hold active Property & Casualty (P&C) and Life Insurance licenses. (Note: Insurance expertise is required to understand agency operations and product lines, but this role is strictly consultative and non-selling).
• Industry Experience & Expertise: Due to the early, aggressive goals set forth by Farmers Insurance, we require individuals with a high level of advanced expertise. Candidates must hit the ground running; we will not have the bandwidth to teach fundamental concepts involving sales, insurance, product lines, or industry mechanics.
• Transportation: Reliable means of daily commuting and traveling throughout the Chicagoland territory.
• Communication & Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a natural ability to motivate, coach, and build rapport with diverse agency teams.
• Drive & Independence: A self-starter mentality comfortable managing a dynamic schedule split between collaborative office planning and independent field execution.

• Waiting to be Taught: Requiring guidance on insurance products, sales fundamentals, or agency operations—we need an immediate subject matter expert who hits the ground running.
• Acting as an Outsourced Salesperson: Taking over and selling policies directly instead of coaching, mentoring, and empowering the agency's own staff to sell.
• Passive Observing: Visiting agencies just to chat or observe without auditing scripts, participating in live prospecting, or driving measurable accountability.

• Base Salary: $60,000 per year.
