Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and Epic EMR proficiency, with night shifts and first-time travelers welcome.

Details

• General Emergency Department setting with a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 depending on staffing and patient volume
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days required per 6-week period
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Travelers may be floated to any system campus as needed
• Epic EMR experience required
• Common cases include CVA, dysrhythmias, traumatic injuries, gunshot wounds, procedural sedation, and shock/trauma presentations
• Key procedures and skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and dysrhythmia interpretation

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in an Emergency Department required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, TNCC, CPI
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Third-party education verification required; degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list will not be accepted
• No open background cases permitted

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• All RNs must pass a pass/fail EKG exam during compliance regardless of specialty; two attempts are allowed
• Candidates should prepare for the EKG exam in advance, as study materials will not be provided by the facility
• Orientation includes unit-based modules averaging 2–4 hours
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application; no RTO requests will be accepted after submission
