An Auto Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various automotive systems to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently. Working both independently and within a team, technicians follow a flat rate compensation system and adhere to scheduled shifts while delivering quality service to customers. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge and exceptional problem-solving skills to address diverse repair needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle diagnostics and identify issues
- Repair and maintain engines, brakes, electrical systems, and transmissions
- Interact effectively with customers to explain repairs and services
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order
- Ensure safety compliance in all repair and maintenance tasks
- Replace parts as needed to restore vehicle functionality
- Keep accurate records of repairs and service history
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in auto repair
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in mechanical diagnostics and brake systems
- Experience with engine repair, electrical systems, and transmission repair
- Strong customer service skills
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- Time management skills to handle scheduled work efficiently
