Position Overview

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Analyst / Power BI Developer to support the design, development, and optimization of enterprise business intelligence and reporting solutions. This role will focus on building high-performance Power BI semantic models, dashboards, paginated reports, and enterprise analytics integrated with Snowflake .

The selected consultant will collaborate with data engineers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to develop scalable reporting solutions, optimize SQL and Snowflake performance, and deliver reliable, data-driven insights across the organization. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in Power BI, DAX, SQL, dimensional data modelling, and Snowflake , with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI dataflows, semantic models, and reporting solutions.
• Create intuitive, interactive, and high-performance Power BI dashboards and analytical reports.
• Develop advanced DAX calculations, KPIs, and business logic.
• Build and maintain paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries utilizing CTEs, window functions, and advanced analytical techniques.
• Retrieve, transform, and prepare Snowflake data for enterprise reporting and analytics.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize fact and dimension tables for Power BI consumption.
• Integrate Power BI with Snowflake using appropriate connection modes and best practices.
• Optimize report performance through query tuning, model optimization, and efficient data design.
• Troubleshoot issues related to Power BI, DAX, SQL, semantic models, and Snowflake compute resources.
• Maintain metadata, data lineage documentation, report specifications, and technical documentation.
• Translate business requirements into scalable semantic models and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Work closely with business users, SMEs, developers, and technical teams to deliver analytical solutions.
• Support ongoing enhancements, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise reporting platforms.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of overall IT experience working with Business Intelligence technologies.
• 3 5 years of hands-on experience developing enterprise Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
• Proven experience designing enterprise reporting and analytical solutions.
• Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
