Duties
Provide remote and on-site technical support for motor control systems for Field Service and Manufacturing personnel.
Assist with compressor system installation, inspection, commissioning and startup.
Diagnose and troubleshoot operational and electrical issues on PLC based compressor control systems, VFDs and electric motors.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring that all work is performed safely, and that all equipment meets safety standards.
Able to troubleshoot 120-480 VAC panels in a safe manner.
Execute necessary repairs and replacement of faulty electrical components, control systems and instrumentation to restore equipment to proper working.
Install and use equipment specific application software for various electronic components including Programmable Logic Controllers, Variable Frequency Drives, Human Machine Interfaces, pressure transmitters and automated valves.
Develop technical documentation including procedures and work instructions.
Provide technical training for Field Service and Manufacturing personnel.
Work with customers and customer contractors to provide support for the installation and operation of compressor controls systems.
Qualifications
Prefer bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology (EET). Associate's degree or Technical Certification in Electrical or Instrumentation Technology may be considered.
Proven experience as an I&E or EE technician or related role in an industrial, oilfield or service industry.
Experience with three phase 480VAC electrical systems.
Experience with electric motor control systems.
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical circuits, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), and various instrumentation devices.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
Experience with electrical test equipment including multi-meters, insulation testers, and oscilloscopes.
Effective verbal and written communications skills.
Strong computer skills including proficiency with slide presentation, word processing and spreadsheet applications as well as application software installation and configuration.
Capable of performing physical tasks including lifting equipment and working in various environmental conditions.
Compression experience a plus.
Automotive or engine repair experience a plus.
Travel will be required.
