You will make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, their families and your fellow caregivers.A caregiver in this position works evenings from 1PM - 9:30PM or 3PM—11:30PM, and will rotate every other weekend 12:30pm - 9pm and will work 1 major and 1 minor holiday per year.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High School Diploma or GEDLicensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy TechnicianCertified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) upon or within 18 months of hireAbility to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compoundsBasic computer skillsPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program3-6 months of sterile compounding experience preferredPhysical Requirements:Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
