Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator provides an opportunity for the candidate to develop skills as an advanced warehouse professional in our food production facility in Totowa, NJ. The candidate will play a key role in assuring that our customers are supplied with all the items that they order on-time and in full. There are both 1st and 2nd shifts available. 1st Shift: 8AM-4:30PM; 2nd shift: 2PM - 10:30PM.

Essential Functions:

• Receive, inspect, and put away palletized finished goods.
• Pick and prepare customer orders, including full and partial pallets, for shipment.
• Stage and load finished goods onto trailers for delivery to internal and external customers.
• Replenish inventory by moving full pallets to designated picking locations.
• Perform electronic transactions related to product movement within the facility.
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment to support operational efficiency.
• Work safely and proactively identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and service.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain a team-oriented approach.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and adhere to established procedures.
• Understand the impact of errors or poor quality on internal and external customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change based on business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience performing electronic transactions related to physical product movement in a warehouse or production environment.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Ability to lift, build, and restack pallets with materials weighing up to 55 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately and methodically.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of employees.
• Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach.
• Basic understanding of internal customer needs and the impact of errors or poor quality.

Working Environment:

The warehouse is large, open-floor areas with loud machinery, requiring some areas for workers to wear ear protection to guard against noise. Workers are exposed to high temperatures during the summer months. Some work in cold environments during winter months. You will be exposed to a dusty work environment due to raw materials. Materials may contain allergens (eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, milk, fish, shellfish, wheat). Workers are required to wear safety glasses, hair nets, and safety shoes.

Physical Requirements:

Workers usually can stand or operate a forklift for most of their shift. Frequently lifting 55-pound cartons and bags. Climbing, balancing stooping, crouching, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, lifting overhead, use of fingers, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Our Offer:

This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement. Compensation and other terms and conditions of employment are subject to the provisions of that agreement. The compensation for this position is a fixed hourly rate of $21.50 per hour. In addition to the base rate, shift differentials apply as follows: $1.10 per hour for second shift and $ 1.65 per hour for third shift.
