Description

• Conduct evaluations for individuals across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations employing standardized assessments alongside observational strategies.
• Create personalized treatment strategies that focus on immediate objectives while considering long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
• Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions concentrating on various aspects like communication, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing.
• Engage in collaborative planning with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure comprehensive care strategies.
• Empower both patients and their families with education that reinforces progress outside the clinical settings.
• Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions while maintaining continuity of care throughout their healing journey.
• Maintain meticulous and timely documentation that complies with state regulations, federal laws, and institutional policies.
• Stay informed on advancements in therapy practices through ongoing education and peer partnerships.

Education

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in Massachusetts.
• Preferably hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting employment.
