Are you passionate about working with preschool children? The Learning Experience seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Cook to join our team as an ambassador of happiness. As a Preschool Cook with us, you'll play a key role in making a difference in the lives of children, their families, and communities by cooking daily nutritious meals.

You will:

• Plan, prepare, and cook healthy and delicious meals for preschool children that meet proper nutritional requirements.
• Maintain and track food allergies for each child in our center, ensuring their safety, and communicate any identified allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
• Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure food is stored properly.
• Collaborate with the Center Leadership team to purchase all necessary food and supplies and keep inventory records as local and state agencies require.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards parents and children, listen, and communicate effectively.
• Be flexible and adaptable to the daily business needs of a childcare center.
• Must keep a clean and organized kitchen.
• Continue the happy culture of the team and school daily going throughout the school!
• Assist in lunch coverage in classrooms as management schedules daily.
• Conduct Restroom Breaks daily for the whole team twice a day, once in the morning and another in the afternoon.
• Serve three meals to each room and meet sanitation standards while doing so and our each class schedule.
• Will communicate with the management team when required.
• Will unload the food deliveries weekly and labeling each item with the dates following the food certification rules.
• Must comply with all company and state training requirements.

If you have:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience in food preparation and cooking.
• A food handling certificate or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
• The ability to lift a minimum of 5lbs
• Criminal Record Qualification Letter through the NC Division of Child Development (good for 5 years)
• TB test (within 1 year old)
• Staff medical report on NCDCD form (within 1 year old)
• Must have or understand they are responsible for taking a state approved Infant, Child, Adult CPR First Aid CPR and First Aid and AED training within 30 days of hire.
• Must have or understand they are responsible for taking a state approved IT'S SIDS training.
