We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to serve as a Charge Nurse on the Medical-Surgical unit during night shifts. This role requires strong clinical judgment to perform thorough assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans. The ideal candidate will adapt plans to meet evolving clinical outcomes effectively.

Clinical Inquiry: You will actively evaluate nursing practices and quality indicators, supporting evidence-based improvements through research and experiential learning. Participation in quality and performance improvement initiatives is essential.

Caring Practices: Create a compassionate, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff. Build meaningful relationships while managing emotional and physical pain to promote comfort and healing.

Response to Diversity: Incorporate patients' and families' unique cultural, spiritual, and socioeconomic backgrounds into personalized care plans.

Advocacy and Moral Agency: Protect patient confidentiality, autonomy, and dignity, ensuring care plans reflect their values and goals. Address ethical and clinical concerns as they arise.

Review patient history, diagnostics, and collaborate with the healthcare team to formulate and revise realistic, measurable care goals.

Implementation and Evaluation: Deliver direct patient care, coordinate and supervise healthcare team activities, and ensure continuity of care through accurate communication. Evaluate patient responses and adjust care plans accordingly.

Documentation: Maintain clear, timely, and accurate records reflecting assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in compliance with policies and regulatory standards.

Additional Responsibilities: Participate in research, shared leadership, and the education and orientation of staff, patients, and families. Support the growth of others through precepting and mentoring as appropriate.

Education and Experience: Must hold a current RN license and have experience in medical-surgical nursing. Prior charge nurse or leadership experience is preferred.
