Assistant, General Manager

Job purpose Global Furniture Group has an immediate career opportunity for an Assistant General Manager in the Whittier California area. In this role you will support the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Distribution Center and the supervision of Distribution Center employees. This role helps ensure operational efficiency, strong customer service, effective coordination across warehouse, customer care, and administrative functions while escalating broader issues and decisions to the General Manager as appropriate. The Assistant General Manager plays a hands-on leadership role, assisting with execution, team oversight, and operational follow-through across key areas of the business. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support the supervision and development of Customer Care and Order Entry Representatives to ensure a positive customer experience. Assist in maintaining productive relationships with customers and logistics vendors. Support overall client and operational performance of the DC. Assist the General Manager with financial and operational oversight. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Monitor inventory levels in alignment with sales demand and operational needs. Oversee daily warehouse activities to ensure accurate inventory movement in and out of the facility. Ensure completion and accuracy of weekly product cycle counts. Assist with training, coaching, and day-to-day guidance of the customer care, order entry, and warehouse teams. Delegate tasks appropriately to balance team member workloads while supporting business goals. Support evaluation and coordination of local vendor relationships to ensure service quality and cost effectiveness. Partner with the local sales team to support a consistent and positive customer experience. Assist with select HR responsibilities, including onboarding support, scheduling and employee issue escalation. Assist General Manager to oversee policy improvement and implementation initiatives. Act as a point of leadership coverage in the absence of the General Manager. Additional Duties as assigned.

Minimum of 3-6 years of related experience. Customer-focused mindset with an understanding of sales and service operations. Self-motivated and goal oriented, with the ability to operate effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to support financial and operational aspects of a distribution or warehouse operation. Strong computer skills. Ability to inspire and motivate others. Ability to analyze issues and problem solve. Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal communication and presentation skills. A track record of driving team and process accomplishments or solving problems for organizations.
