Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Profession: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Specialty: Long Term Care (LTC) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 11 PM - 7 AM Experience: 3+ years current experience (must be within the last 6 months) License: Must have an active license Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Must be willing to float to units where experienced - IV certified (must be willing to obtain during onboarding if not certified) - COVID vaccination required (declinations/exemptions not accepted) - Locals residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted - Previous travel experience preferred - Rural/small facility experience preferred

Description: This assignment location is in a rural area with limited housing and public transportation. Candidates must have their own transportation. Observe each resident on a continuing basis alert to changes in mental and physical well-being. Notify the Supervisor of pertinent observations and discuss the need to notify the physician. Receive Resident Status Report from the off-going shift and provide the on-coming shift with detailed reports. Accurately receive, transcribe, and carry out physician's orders. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician. Make proper documentation via a computerized system of MARs/TARs and electronic documentation. Order and maintain all pharmaceuticals for the units. Supervise nursing assistants in accordance with licensing requirements. Assign and measure nursing staff resident care consistent with abilities, job description, and scope of practice. Supervise the care given and assist direct-care staff with nursing care as necessary. Accompany the physician on resident rounds to address residents' medical needs. Administer oxygen in accordance with facility guidelines and procedures. Administer gastrostomy/jejunostomy feedings following policy and procedure. Perform wound care and possess knowledge of wound vacs. Carry out regular duties on the unit such as checking appointments for the day. Monitor nursing assistant documentation and oversee infection control practices on the unit. Ensure that the unit is clean and hazard-free. Report any problems to the Nurse Manager/Nursing Supervisor. Communicate with residents' families to resolve concerns and notify family members of new orders. Receive incoming calls and determine appropriate responses. Assume responsibility for the management of assigned units during the shift under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor or Director of Nursing Services. Follow State and Federal Regulations regarding the storage, usage, and documentation of controlled medications. Assist with the orientation of new nursing employees on assigned units. Communicate regarding continuing education needs of the nursing staff. Initiate or effectively recommend disciplinary action as necessary.
