Duties and Responsibilities Provides planned, skilled, and individualized nursing care for patients in the preoperative and postoperative/post-anesthesia (Phase 1 & 2) periods of the perioperative process. Provides thorough patient assessment, patient surveillance, and timely administrations of physician’s orders preparing the patient for and recovering the patient after surgery in an outpatient setting. Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Supports the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Organization. Maintains familiarity with and abides by the Center’s policies and procedures. Contributes to the progress and development of the Organization’s adopted Quality Management Program. Maintains professional competence by participating in continuing education and other learning experiences. Maintains membership(s) and activity within relevant professional organization(s). Must be able to set priorities and provide direction to others that is clear, concise, and promotes efficiency. Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities. Respects the patient’s right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality and will provide a safe and supportive patient atmosphere. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan: Required Minimum of 2 years perioperative orthopaedic surgery experience: Required Joint Replacement and Spine Surgery experience: Preferred Critical Care experience: Preferred BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification Required (able to obtain within 6 months of hire).
