Job Opportunity

This position involves working in a Night 3x12-Hour shift from 19:00 to 07:00 in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The selected candidate will have the opportunity to float between various units as required and will be expected to work every other weekend. Block scheduling is also a component of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients in the NICU.
• Assist in critical care procedures and interventions.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
• Float between different units as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care and NICU settings.
• Experience and comfort with patient ratios of 1:15.
• Familiarity with Epic charting system is required.
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, RRT, ACLS, PALS.

Skills

• Proficient in neonatal assessments and critical care procedures.
• Experience with intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care.
• Knowledge of high-frequency oscillators, bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP), and other respiratory support techniques.
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and troubleshoot related equipment alarms.
• Experience with patient transport and management of respiratory distress syndromes.

• Type of Facility: Short Term Acute Care.
• Total Staffed Beds: 418.
• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adults, Geriatrics.
• Daily Census: Variable based on unit demands.

Additional Information

This role requires the candidate to commit to working three of the five major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. Pre-approved time off is limited, and any specific scheduling requests must be communicated upfront during the application process.
