Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menu plans, ensuring consistent quality and taste.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items and sanitation of equipment.
• Monitor food inventory levels and assist in receiving and storing deliveries to prevent shortages or waste.
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling, cooking, and storage of food products.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and school personnel to coordinate meal service and address any special dietary needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation and cooking in a commercial or institutional kitchen setting.
• Ability to speak and understand English to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity and ability to handle kitchen tools and equipment safely.
• Capability to stand for extended periods during meal preparation and service.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a school or institutional food service environment.
