Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• 2 years of post-secondary training in CAD, machining, or a related field preferred
• Equivalent experience operating CNC lathes and cylindrical grinders may be considered

Experience Requirements

• Experience with CNC machining, tooling, or precision manufacturing
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming preferred
• Experience using precision measuring instruments, hand tools, and power tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

• Manufacture and maintain tooling components and mandrels for pilger machine operations
• Set up and operate CNC lathes, cylindrical grinders, vertical mills, thread grinders, and other machining equipment
• Utilize CAD/CAM software to support tooling design and production processes
• Select and install tooling, fixtures, and machine settings for production runs
• Sharpen drills, straighten mandrels, and perform polishing and finishing operations
• Inspect finished components to ensure compliance with quality standards and engineering specifications
• Maintain accurate production records and tooling documentation
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments
• Keep the tooling area, equipment, and workspaces organized and clean
• Follow established safety procedures and support quality systems including ISO and AS standards
• Apply continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices to reduce defects and improve efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or multi-axis equipment is preferred.
• Experience editing CNC programs, setting tooling offsets, and performing machine setups is beneficial.
• Familiarity with G-code, CAD/CAM software, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, continuous learning, and commitment to precision manufacturing are well positioned for success as a CNC Machinist.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.

What You Will Do


As a CNC Machinist you will set up, operate, monitor, and adjust CNC machining equipment to manufacture precision components according to engineering specifications. You will verify machine setups, inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, troubleshoot machining issues, maintain tooling, and support quality and production goals while following established safety and manufacturing procedures.
