Clinical Assistant Professor/Inpatient Psychiatry

The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position. The faculty member will hold a clinical appointment at Hackensack Meridian Health Carrier Clinic. The behavioral health clinical pharmacist faculty member will collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and medical staff to optimize care in the inpatient setting. The faculty member will organize, develop, and participate in clinical and quality improvement activities. Clinical activities include, but are not limited to the following: practice under collaborative practice agreement to optimize inpatient pharmacotherapy, participation in quality initiatives to reduce readmissions, enhance medication access, participation in multidisciplinary rounds, provide interprofessional education, collaboration on policy and procedure development, committee participation, perform research and medication use evaluations, conduct dosing consults, support Medication Assistance Treatment initiatives, follow hospital procedures for billing for services when appropriate, provide community outreach support, and precept.

Applicants must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and have completed at least two years of residency training with a PGY-2 in psychiatry/Behavioral Health or equivalent experience. Candidates must be highly motivated, innovative, and team-oriented and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide patient-centered care with a commitment to teaching, service, and professional advancement. Board certification is preferred. Eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of New Jersey is required.
