Step into a vital role supporting the health and well-being of elementary students as a full-time School Nurse. With a preferred background as either an RN or Certified School Nurse (CSN), you’ll provide compassionate and expert care in a welcoming school environment.

This contract position is located near Lyons, IL, and is available for an immediate start. The school day runs from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing you to maintain a consistent weekday schedule.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, with CSN certification preferred
• Prior experience working with children, preferably in a school setting
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with students, staff, and families
• Familiarity with school health protocols, documentation, and care plan management
• CPR and First Aid Certification required

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff during school hours
• Monitor and manage student health records, medications, and immunizations
• Collaborate with staff and families to develop care plans for students with chronic health conditions
• Conduct health screenings and promote wellness programs tailored to the elementary population
• Serve as a resource for student health education and injury/illness prevention
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and work with local healthcare providers as needed
