IVIG Intake Coordinator

Description of Responsibilities
The PCC-Intake Ivig Coordinator role requires strong relationships with the operations teams to act as a conduit to effective execution of new orders and implementation of custom customer solutions. This role is based in the corporate headquarters.

Scope of Supervision
None

Responsibilities of the Patient Care Coordinator – Ivig Intake Coordinator include the following:

• Create new patient charts. Ensure all patient demographic information is complete and correct before processing the prescription.
• Assist with processing of new referrals and communicating back to office, sales team, pharmacy team and patients.
• Timely submission and follow up of prior authorization requests via fax on behalf of physicians/providers.
• Accurately adjudicate and appropriately address any prescription claim rejections.
• Ensure that all prior authorization documents, databases, and records are maintained accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Manage all incoming faxes in a timely manner.
• Attending all assigned internal and external meetings as required.
• Ensure that all physician office communications are responded to in a timely manner.
• Update/Manage all required logs, excel list, smart sheets daily.
• Supports the appeal process in collaboration with provider.
• Request / add any missing information to the patient chart.
• Accurately enter and successfully adjudicate all new prescriptions into the pharmacy system from designated workflow queues.
• Monitor and correct the new prescription adjudication queue for any prescription clarifications or corrections.
• Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients, providers, and peers.
• Work collaboratively with internal, sales and pharmacy staff to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner.
• Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
• Additional tasks as required by management.

Qualifications and Preferred Skills

• Preferred Pharmacy Technician license with the State Board of Pharmacy (where applicable).
• Previous experience working in a Retail / Specialty Pharmacy.
• Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.
• Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions.
• Computer skills that include proficiency with spreadsheets and use of the internet, as well as word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.
• Candidates should have a working knowledge of pharmacy applications.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Data entry skills required.
