Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Cardiology

Position Overview Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to support our Comprehensive CV Care and Coordination Center at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. .9 FTE position, 36 hours per week. The schedule includes both day and night shifts, 12‑hour rotations, and occasional weekend coverage. Responsibilities Provides clinical care for patients, including comprehensive patient assessments, determination of diagnosis and treatment, ordering and interpreting medical diagnostics, prescribing medications and therapies, and conducting patient education. Consults with physicians regarding patients whose needs exceed the scope of practice or when diagnosis or treatment plans are unclear. Participates in a multidisciplinary health care team, promotes communication within the team, serves as a resource to team members, collaborates with primary care for program development, and acts as a liaison with outside agencies. Performs all aspects of patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings and can work independently or as part of a treatment team. Provides education, case management, and consultation to staff and other health care professionals. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master’s degree – Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Preferred Qualifications New graduates may be considered. Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology or intensive care units. Licenses & Certification Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required upon hire. Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) or Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) required upon hire. ACLS/BLS Tier 2 certification required within 180 days. Drug Enforcement Administration certification required upon hire. Active MN NP/PA license (or ability to obtain). Physical Demands Medium work: lifting up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently. Compensation Pay Range: $150,509 to $183,893 per year.
