Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of recent acute care postpartum experience and current BLS, NRP, and AWHONN fetal monitoring certifications.

Details

• Work in a 29-bed Birthing Center L&D unit at an HCA facility in Wichita, KS
• Patient population includes postpartum, high-risk pregnancies (PPROM, preeclampsia, placenta previa, PTL), post-operative gynecological and urogynecological surgeries, ectopic pregnancies, GYN oncology post-op, and readmitted postpartum complications
• Patient ratios of 4–6:1
• Equipment used includes Welch Allyn vitals machines, CPN monitors, and POC glucose monitoring
• EMR: Meditech / CPN
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Night shift staffing includes 1 CNC/charge nurse and 2–3 RNs
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience overall, with at least 1 year of recent acute care postpartum experience
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC accepted), NRP Advanced 9th Edition (American Academy of Pediatrics card), and intermediate or advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring (or NCCEFM)
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

• Procedures performed on the unit include fetal monitoring (NSTs), post-operative gynecological and urogynecological care, GYN oncology post-op, women's health med-surg, and management of postpartum NICU mothers
• Preferred experience includes OB, med-surg, and GYN
• Must adhere to HCA ICARE standards of behavior
