Accounting Manager

Position Title: Accounting Manager Location: Statesville, NC (Hybrid) Compensation: $120,000 - $135,000 / Annually Employment Type: Direct Hire Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Role Overview Lead and oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Payroll, Purchasing, General Ledger, and Cost Accounting functions Manage and mentor a team of 4+ accounting professionals in a stable, self-sufficient environment Partner closely with executive leadership to support financial strategy, reporting, and operational improvements Ensure accurate financial reporting while maintaining compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements Support a forward-thinking organization that values integrity, teamwork, work-life balance, and servant leadership Key Responsibilities Supervise daily accounting activities and provide guidance to the accounting team Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements Perform monthly balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for operating expenses and capital expenditures Prepare and analyze financial reports to support business decisions Assist with annual budget preparation and financial planning initiatives Coordinate annual audits and prepare audit working papers Ensure timely and accurate completion of required regulatory and financial reporting Manage banking relationships and oversee financial service costs Support loan applications, documentation, and funding requests Provide financial guidance and support to various departments and locations Assist with software implementations, system enhancements, and data reporting initiatives Ideal Candidate Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field 3+ years of accounting experience with supervisory or management responsibilities Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles Experience managing month-end/year-end close processes Background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and support a team Experience in a cooperative environment preferred CPA or advanced education is a plus Technical Skills Advanced Excel skills Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools ERP/accounting system experience Experience with NISC or utility-specific systems preferred Work Environment Hybrid schedule with flexibility based on business needs Collaborative, team-oriented culture with strong focus on integrity and accountability Opportunity to lead a highly experienced accounting team and partner with executive leadership Occasional increased onsite presence during budgeting, audits, and key financial initiatives Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
