Job Description 

WRS is seeking a highly skilled Survey Party Chief to lead and support field surveying operations across a variety of projects, primarily in an industrial setting. This role is responsible for directing field crews, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality throughout each project. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, field leadership ability, and a commitment to precision and safety.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee boundary, topographic and construction surveys.
• Review survey documents in compliance with Washington State regulations.
  
• Ensure accuracy of field data collection using GPS, total stations, and other equipment.
• Establish control points, benchmarks, and project layouts.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to meet project requirements.
• Review survey data, plats, and deliverables for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards and requirements, including facility specific.
• Identify and resolve boundary discrepancies, title issues, and field conflicts.
• Oversee survey project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Maintain and enforce safety standards for all survey operations.
• Support business development through client interaction and proposal input.

Your Experience & Qualifications

• PLS license not required; candidates pursuing PLS licensure are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive land surveying experience. 
• TWIC card required. 
• Strong knowledge of Washington State surveying laws, standards, and procedures.
• Proficiency with GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and survey software.
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
• High level of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
