Seeking passionate Paraprofessionals to make an impact in Lehigh County classrooms for the 2026-2027 school year! This contract opportunity runs through June 2027, offering either 32.5–35 hours per week in school-age settings or 29 hours in preschool early intervention environments. Roles are available across multiple locations in Lehigh County, primarily supporting students in Multiple Disabilities Support (MDS) classrooms—both functional and behavioral. Specific school and classroom assignments will be matched based on district needs, and candidate preferences are considered whenever possible.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum one year of paraprofessional, instructional assistant, or special education classroom experience
- Satisfy at least one of the Pennsylvania state paraprofessional qualifications (48+ college credits, associate’s degree or higher, or completion of a qualifying assessment/certification process within 60 days of hire)
- Comfortable with classroom settings that involve hands-on personal care and behavioral support
- Ability to reliably commute in 30–35 minutes to assignment locations and commit to consistent, on-time arrival for school-day hours
- Prepared to handle lifting, feeding, diapering, and personal care responsibilities as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with multiple disabilities in both functional and behavioral classroom settings
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Facilitate a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
- Foster positive communication with students, staff, and families
- Adapt to evolving classroom needs and assignments within Lehigh County
