Make a meaningful impact supporting students across K–12 in a dynamic educational environment as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work with a diverse caseload, collaborating with educators and families to empower students with visual impairments. With a dedicated schedule of 35 hours per week, you’ll serve as an essential resource for both students and staff while helping to create an inclusive and accessible educational experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Indiana licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (IN TVI License) required
- Experience working with students with visual impairments across various grade levels
- Proficiency in adapting curriculum, materials, and technology to meet student needs
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and families
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Positive, flexible approach to problem-solving in a school-based setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and consultation services to K–12 students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to modify instructional strategies and environments
- Conduct functional vision assessments and assistive technology recommendations
- Develop and monitor IEP goals related to visual impairment
- Offer support and resources to families to enhance learning at home
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress reports, and case management activities
