About the Position

Job Title

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – CVOR

Location

Asheville, NC | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Days | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 13 Weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Perform the scrub role across a full range of cardiovascular and thoracic procedures including CABG, Valve Replacement, VAD Insertions, TAVR, VATS, Lobectomy, Pacemaker/AICD Insertions, Septal Myectomy, Ross Procedure, EVH, IABP Insertions, Femoral Cannulation, and Circulatory Arrest
• Maintain a 1:1 scrub-to-circulator ratio per case; pump cases may also require a first assist or Heart Holder role
• Operate and maintain Stryker equipment in accordance with facility and surgical attire policies
• Document accurately using the Cerner electronic documentation system
• Participate in assigned and rotated on-call shifts as scheduled
• Float to other areas infrequently as needed based on unit demands

Required Qualifications

• Active CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification is required — no exceptions
• Active BLS certification required
• Extensive, demonstrated CVOR experience in the scrub role is required
• Minimum of 2 prior travel assignments required — no exceptions
• Proficiency with procedures performed in a cardiovascular operating room setting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• First Assist or Heart Holder experience and proficiency
• Familiarity with Stryker surgical equipment
• Experience with Cerner documentation system
