Senior Retail Development Manager

Position Summary Senior Retail Development Manager – works directly with an Account Executive to identify and create new sales opportunities within assigned territory, focusing on understanding supply chain processes and securing meetings with executive‑level contacts. Essential Responsibilities Develop and execute a territory plan guiding accounts, contacts, and prospecting strategies. Conduct account and prospect research to identify change events, strategic initiatives, and other signals for prioritization. Execute outbound prospecting using phone, email, and social media to generate interest and secure introductory meetings. Participate in introductory and discovery calls with the AE to understand supply chain processes and challenges. Align prospect pain points with SPS Commerce solutions to generate interest in partnership. Collaborate cross‑functionally with AE and internal teams to support business relationships and execute sales strategy. Document key findings, progress, insights, and pipeline velocity in Salesforce.com. Contribute to a culture aligned with SPS Mission, Vision, and Values. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 years in a commission‑based sales role. Alternatively, post‑secondary education and 8+ years of relevant work experience. Experience in sales hunting, account management, sales consulting, or related fields with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales plans. Proficiency with AI, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and a CRM, preferably Salesforce.com. Clear, concise, confident communication skills across verbal, written, and non‑verbal channels. Demonstrative behaviors of integrity, curiosity, engagement, self‑driven initiative, collaboration, relationship building, customer support, and leadership. Strong organization and prioritization skills. Adaptability and creativity, capable of working off‑script in new approaches or unforeseen situations. Preferred Experience Selling solutions or services into Retail, Distribution, Grocery Retail Operations, and/or supply‑chain experience. Location This role follows a hybrid work model with a requirement for regular in‑office presence at our Minneapolis office. Compensation Annualized compensation target includes base salary and annualized commission. Base salary range: $65K + commission.
