Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45-07:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCRN recommended Must-Have: Titration of Vesicant Medications Familiarity with Pressors Sedation and Paralytics experience Experience with Ventilators and Trachs Telemetry interpretation skills Understanding of Hemodynamics PA Catheter setup and interpretation Transvenous pacing experience Cardioversion knowledge TEE familiarity Chest tube insertion and maintenance Description: The position requires demonstrated experience in Critical Care settings. General unit specifics include a 16-bed capacity with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, and occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity levels. Unit staffing includes RNs only, with no HUC or PCT support available. Essential equipment includes Ventilators, Telemetry, Baxter IV Pump, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and Hyperthermia units. The documentation system used is Cerner. Schedulers require 36 hours per week, with alternating weekends and 12-hour shifts. Travelers may be required to float to all areas of the unit. ICU experience is mandatory for applicants. Desired advanced skills include IABP, Impella, and CRRT expertise. Procedures performed within the unit include Cardioversion, Central line insertion, EGD, Bronchoscopy, Chest Tube insertions, Pericardiocentesis, and Thoracentesis. Attention to the dress code is required, with specific colors for scrubs being mandatory. No pullovers or hoodies are allowed, and green scrubs may only be worn if soiled during work.
