Client Opening - Accounting Manager

Corrigan Krause is assisting their client in the search for a permanent Accounting Manager located in North Royalton, Ohio. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, manufacturing industry experience, and a passion for process improvement and technology. This position is both hands‑on and strategic, supporting day‑to‑day accounting while helping drive long‑term operations. Responsibilities Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Accounting & Close Oversee all general ledger activity, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end and year‑end close processes. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP. Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare and review financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and management reporting packages. Perform variance, trend, and ad hoc financial analysis to support decision‑making and improve financial performance. Technology Strong affinity for systems, software applications, and process improvement, with the ability to quickly learn, adopt, and optimize new technologies. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and Outlook. Proactive technology user who can become a systems “power user” and internal resource/trainer over time. Experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC) and Accounting Seed preferred. Manufacturing & Operational Finance Partner with operations to ensure accurate cost accounting, including inventory, work‑in‑process (WIP), and job costing. Analyze production costs, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption to improve gross margins and operational performance. Monitor and evaluate margin performance by product line, project, and customer. Internal Controls & Compliance Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure financial accuracy, asset protection, and audit readiness. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Tax & External Coordination Oversee tax compliance (income, sales/use, and other filings) in coordination with external advisors. Manage relationships with external CPA firms, including financial statement reviews/audits and timely resolution of findings. Team Leadership & Development Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; establish accountability, cross‑training, and team scalability. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP. Demonstrated experience with accounting systems and process improvement; ERP implementation or similar. Experience working with web‑based accounting platforms such as Accounting Seed and Salesforce or similar systems. Ability to take and pass a background check. Why Join?
