About the Role
We are hiring a Social Marketing Associate on behalf of our client, a leading national general merchandise retailer with a strong digital, in-store, and social commerce presence. This role supports the day-to-day execution of social media engagement, publishing, content curation, and campaign support across multiple platforms. The Social Marketing Associate will help monitor online conversations, engage with audiences, identify user-generated content, and share insights that support broader social engagement and content strategies. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, culturally aware, passionate about social media and retail trends, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative marketing environment. The Social Marketing Associate will play an active role in supporting social media publishing, engagement, content management, and performance insights. This position will help maintain a consistent and engaging brand presence across social platforms while contributing to social engagement strategy through real-time audience interaction, trend monitoring, and content support.
Key responsibilities include:

• Assist with the day-to-day scheduling and publishing of content across social media platforms while ensuring alignment with platform best practices.
• Identify relevant user-generated content and help secure permission for use across social channels.
• Monitor social conversations to identify emerging trends, engagement opportunities, and culturally relevant moments.
• Engage with users through thoughtful, brand-aligned 1:1 responses and interactions.
• Share real-time audience, guest, and cultural insights with content strategy partners to help inform and refine social strategies.
• Partner with social analytics team members to track organic content performance and support recommendations to improve reach and engagement.
• Support social strategists with campaign development, content creation, and execution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to bring content ideas from concept through completion using brand, user-generated, influencer, and original creative assets.
• Use creative, social media management, and productivity tools to support content development, publishing, and reporting.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

• College degree required.
• 1–2 years of relevant work experience in social media, marketing, communications, content, digital engagement, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, best practices, and platform-native content.
• Passion for social media, pop culture, retail, and audience engagement.
• Exceptional written communication skills with a strong eye for detail.
• Ability to monitor conversations, identify trends, and engage authentically with social audiences.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to distill information, synthesize data, draw conclusions, and assess content or program effectiveness.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Forward-thinking, naturally curious, and self-motivated approach to work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with one or more social media design or content creation tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Spark, InShot, Opal, or Sprinklr.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with content creation tools, mobile apps, and creative programs.
• Experience supporting organic social media campaigns or social engagement strategies.
• Experience working with user-generated content, influencer content, or branded social assets.
• Experience using social media publishing, listening, engagement, or analytics platforms.
• Understanding of how to evaluate organic social performance, audience engagement, ROI, and program effectiveness.
