Job Category: Healthcare Employment Type: Contract on W2 (Need US Citizens or GC Holders) Position: Laboratory Technician Location: Canaan, CT Duration: 12 Months Total Hours/week: 40.00 Shift: 1st Shift Client: Medical Device Company Job Description The Laboratory Technician is responsible for preparing and performing the microbiological testing required for Internal (Client Canaan) and External (BDX) Lab Customers per established Work Instructions and Standards. The Technician must exercise accuracy in performing test procedures and keep accurate records. Responsibilities and Duties Cleans lab supplies and glassware Cleaning and disinfection of the micro lab spaces Environmental monitoring of the manufacturing floor and the Controlled Access Room Preparing media for all associated testing, and the associated quality checks, as well as sterilization of testing utensils Builds panels/dispense bottles Operates glass washers, dryers, and autoclaves Creates label files from templates Assists with the removal and disposal of waste chemicals Creates solutions, powders, and liquids for batches to meet specifications Provides training support for onboarding and new procedures Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Must follow all client housekeeping policies and procedures Must follow all client safety policies and procedures Must be able to work overtime as required to meet client business requirements Perform other duties as required Qualifications Minimum Education/Experience High school degree with technical certification in laboratory operations plus 1 year laboratory experience, AS degree in a scientific discipline with 1 year laboratory experience, or BS degree in a scientific discipline Basic Skills Ability to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills Must be detail-oriented Strong time management skills required Proficient/Working Skills Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic Proficiency in MS Excel is required Education in laboratory procedures and techniques or equivalent work experience is required. Strong verbal, communication and interpersonal skills. Aseptic skills and accuracy required in performing tests. #J-18808-Ljbffr
