Assistant ManagerTo support, coach, and empower each employee within the store to achieve the company's goals and objectives through example-setting, and customer service excellence. The assistant manager assists the Store Manager to help ensure that all employees meet the company standards and expectations consistently. Also acts as a liaison between the customer, management, and the company.Duties and Responsibilities:Demonstrate leadership skills to meet the company's objectivesDemonstrate a sense of urgency and is action-orientated to achieve resultsSet an example to achieve excellence in customer service and maximize sales/profitsDemonstrate and support employees to adhere to the company's policies, standards, and expectations.Support and encourage high morale and level of cooperation among employees through listening, support, and coaching for success.Assist in training of store employees.Recognize employees that adhere to the company's values.Communicate solutions, suggestions, and ideas to make changes for the better.Foster a positive image of Space Age Fuel within the store and community.Support the store manager with all phases of store operations.Participate in store meetings and training sessions to meet the company's objectives.Maintain store safety for staff and customers.Morning paperwork (basic knowledge of excel)Managing money accurately (cash in till/change orders)Pumping fuel and managing the registerAccepting invoices and keeping an accurate inventory of products.Other duties as assignedEducation/Experience:Minimum education level of High School Graduate or GED equivalency1 year of proven leadership skills in a retail sales environment.Skills:Must be flexible to work various schedules such as weekends, holidays and overtime as neededMust have the ability to accurately handle money.Must have strong attention to detailGood oral and written communication skillsExhibits customer service instinctsAbility to exercise good judgment and works well with people.Willingness to make decisions, independent thinkerMust be able to do simple math such as counting, recording, addition, subtraction and multiplication.Regularly lift and or move up to 50 lbs.Exposure to variable temperatures (indoor, outdoor)Work with cleaning solvents and chemicalsDaily exposure to gasoline and oil productsBenefits:401(k) / profit sharingMedical Benefits include Health/Dental/Vision and Optional LifePaid Sick LeavePaid vacation based on years of servicePotential monthly bonus
