Assistant Nurse Manager Emergency Department

Overview Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services, critical and emergency care, including pediatric emergency care. Responsibilities Coordinates patient care, personnel management, maintenance of equipment, and statistical accumulation. Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue, and/or expense budgets, with direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions, documents according to policy, creates and implements a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis, and medical treatment. Supports review of staff hours worked vs scheduled hours, determines appropriate disposition if variation exists, performs and approves daily payroll updates, reconciles time cards, tracks bonuses and coding approvals. Prepares and executes all staff communications, prepares huddle agendas, leads meetings, determines staffing needs, makes nursing assignments and assigns overtime, recommends effective annual increases, interviews staff for open positions, evaluates and conducts performance reviews, drafts and issues corrective actions/coaching, follows up on disciplinary action, and conducts performance evaluations, making recommendations on areas of improvement if needed.
