Job Overview Medical Office Specialist role at TEKsystems, partnered with a multi‑specialty surgical practice in Overland Park, KS. The position supports front or back office functions to ensure high‑quality patient care and efficient workflow. Responsibilities Manage front or back office functions, including patient relations, check‑in/check‑out, scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones. File and retrieve medical records and patient information. Assist with collecting and recording co‑pays (cash and/or charge) and balance the day in the computer. Obtain CPT and ICD‑10 diagnosis codes and other clinical information as required by the physician’s office. Support the company’s mission, vision, and values by scheduling patient surgical procedures and maintaining the surgery schedule. Complete chart requests from Medical Records and notify the Materials Manager/Nurse Manager of any physician requests or special equipment needed for upcoming surgeries/procedures. Qualifications & Experience Entry‑level position; minimum 6 months of recent healthcare industry experience. Demonstrated high level of attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (required); eClinicalWorks preferred. Familiarity with patient registration, prior authorization, insurance verification, scheduling patient procedures/appointments, and managing referrals. Self‑starter who can work independently and as part of a team, detail oriented, and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
