CNC Department Supervisor

Job Description Job Description Position Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Department Supervisor to lead daily operations and drive performance within our CNC department. This role requires a strong working supervisor with hands-on expertise in fiber laser cutting, water jet cutting, CNC press brake forming, and CNC routing, along with the ability to train, mentor, and elevate a team. This is a hands-on leadership role—you will be actively involved in production while overseeing team performance, efficiency, and quality. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Supervision · Supervise and support CNC operators to ensure productivity, accuracy, and accountability · Train and develop team members on machine operation, setup, and programming · Assign daily tasks and monitor progress to meet production goals · Enforce shop standards, procedures, and performance expectations · Coordinate with engineering, fabrication, and installation teams Production & Workflow Management · Oversee daily operation of: o Fiber Laser Systems o Water Jet Cutting Systems o CNC Press Brake o CNC Router · Manage workflow to ensure jobs are completed on time and within spec · Improve processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste · Ensure proper job setup, material usage, and sequencing Technical Responsibilities · Set up, program, and operate CNC machines as needed · Read and interpret engineering drawings and shop prints · Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD to support production and fabrication · Optimize cutting paths, nesting, and forming sequences Quality Control · Ensure all parts meet required specifications and quality standards · Troubleshoot and resolve machining or production issues · Maintain consistency across all CNC operations Equipment & Maintenance · Support preventative maintenance schedules for CNC equipment · Monitor machine performance and address issues proactively Safety · Enforce all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment Required Qualifications · Proven experience as a CNC Lead, Supervisor, or similar role · Hands-on experience with: - Profile T DA66-T o Fiber Laser Cutting o Water Jet Cutting o CNC Press Brake o CNC Router · Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD · Ability to lead, train, and hold a team accountable · Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills · Solid understanding of fabrication processes and production flow Preferred Qualifications · Experience with nesting/CAM software · Background in metal and/or wood fabrication · Experience implementing process improvements or SOPs What We're Looking For · A working supervisor who leads from the floor · Strong technical capability combined with leadership presence · Someone who can train, organize, and improve CNC operations · Reliable, detail-oriented, and production-driven Why Join Us · Stable, growing fabrication environment · Opportunity to lead and shape the CNC department · Work with advanced equipment and diverse projects Company Description Basile Studio is a company who cares.
