HR/Benefits Specialist

Overview Human Resources Specialist – Location: Honolulu, HI. Pay: $20–$30/hour. Temporary to hire opportunity, Full-time, In-office. Bishop & Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to support a dynamic organization in Honolulu. This role is responsible for benefits administration, employee relations, HR compliance, and HRIS data management. This is a great opportunity for an HR professional to contribute to a growing team and play a key role in driving positive employee experience and operational success. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support the daily operations of the HR/Benefits team Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance reviews of HR staff Serve as a point of contact for benefits vendors and third-party administrators Administer employee benefits programs (health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives) Maintain and manage HRIS data, reporting, and system accuracy Oversee workers’ compensation claims and coordinate with insurance providers Ensure compliance with employment laws, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information Analyze HR data and assist with reporting and process improvements Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in human resources (benefits, employee relations, recruiting, or training & development) Strong knowledge of employment laws, OSHA, HIPAA, and compliance requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and data management abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred Benefits Bishop & Company offers its temporary and contract employees attractive, competitive benefits, including paid holidays, paid vacation, health insurance, and a matching 401k plan for all those who qualify!
