Staff Accountant

LHH is seeking a Staff Accountant to join out cleint’s growing corproate team in Columbus, Ohio. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment while supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. This role provides exposure to various accounting functions and offers opportunities for professional growth and advancement. This is a fully onsite position based in Columbus, OH. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies. Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other balance sheet accounts. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed. Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting processes. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Assist with external audits by preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor requests. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and enhance operational efficiency. Perform special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of accounting experience preferred. Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and journal entries. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis functions. Experience utilizing ERP or accounting software systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Public accounting experience is a plus. Progress toward CPA certification is preferred but not required. Experience working within a mid-sized or large organization. Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis activities.
