Role Description

African Women for Change Network (AFNet) is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Part-Time Accountant to oversee the organization's financial operations. This flexible position is based in Columbus, Ohio, and offers approximately 10 hours per week , with the opportunity for additional hours as the organization grows.

The Accountant will manage AFNet's day-to-day accounting functions, including recording and reconciling financial transactions, maintaining the general ledger, processing accounts payable and receivable, preparing payroll information in coordination with leadership, and ensuring accurate financial records.

The Accountant will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, assist with budget development and monitoring, support grant and donor financial reporting, and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, internal controls, and applicable federal, state, and grant regulations. The position also supports annual audits and provides financial information and analysis to leadership, board members, funding partners, and other stakeholders.

Working closely with program staff, the Accountant will monitor project expenditures, track grant budgets, and provide timely financial insights that support sound organizational decision-making and responsible stewardship of donor and grant funds.
