Research Associate II, OEM/Special Projects
$27 - $41 per hourLGC Group
LGC Group seeks a Research Associate II to support development and optimization of molecular diagnostic products and reagents in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The role performs molecular biology techniques, executes experiments, maintains documentation, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to advance product development with moderate supervision.
Responsibilities
- Execute molecular biology techniques including nucleic acid purification, PCR analysis, gel electrophoresis, and cell culture procedures
- Perform nucleic acid analysis and interpret experimental results according to established protocols
- Manufacture products following standard operating procedures while maintaining GLP/GMP compliance
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, monitor performance, and document results in compliant systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on custom projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related field; or Bachelor's with relevant lab experience
- Hands-on experience with DNA/RNA purification, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and nucleic acid processing
- Demonstrated proficiency with aseptic techniques in laboratory settings
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proven written and verbal communication skills for internal team collaboration
- Experience with mammalian or viral cell culture (desired)
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, IFS, or Microsoft Dynamics (desired)
Compensation: $27.00-$41.00 USD per hour
