Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year cardiac clinical nursing experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications or must obtain within 30 days of hire date. Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and common cardiac pathologies. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Cardiac Vascular Nursing (RN-BC) or equivalent specialty certification. Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac diagnostic equipment. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in cardiac care units. Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary cardiac care team. Advanced certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if applicable. Responsibilities: Perform thorough cardiac assessments including vital signs, ECG interpretation, and symptom evaluation to identify changes in patient condition. Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and cardiac-specific treatments in accordance with physician orders and clinical guidelines. Monitor and document patient progress, response to treatment, and any adverse reactions, promptly communicating concerns to the healthcare team. Collaborate with cardiologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive cardiac care. Provide patient and family education on cardiac disease management, medication adherence, lifestyle changes, and post-discharge care. Respond to cardiac emergencies such as arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, and cardiac arrests with appropriate interventions. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and institutional policies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with advancements in cardiac nursing care.
